In 2013, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy commissioned Pye Tait Consulting to examine schemes for occupation licensing of building trades working in the home in the domestic repair, maintenance and improvement (RMI) market.
The research reviewed the nature and scope of 12 licensing regimes in total – in Australia, USA and EU states – as well as their level of impact on construction trades in those nations/states.
