FMB roundtable with Manufacturing NI and The British Standards Institution (BSI)
FMB roundtable with Manufacturing NI and The British Standards Institution (BSI)

The FMB recently met with industry representatives and policymakers at a roundtable facilitated by Manufacturing NI and The British Standards Institution (BSI), the national standards body of the United Kingdom.

Ahead of wider discussions with the office of the First Minister at Stormont, issues arounds standards, competency and licensing to protect the Industry going forward were reviewed.

It’s a privilege for us to highlight the positive examples of high quality work and customer service that we see in your work as FMB members. We stressed the need to be mindful of the challenges of balanced regulations on SMEs’ time and resources.

FMB: The badge of credibility

Leveraging our strict membership criteria and the ongoing efforts of members to act with quality and safety to the fore, the case for more recognition of the FMB badge of credibility continues to be made.

However without the efforts of you as members to uphold those high standards, our reputation would not be as strong. Examples of good practice are evident in how FMB members conduct their businesses, and include:

  • Successful completion of the FMB vetting process
  • Ongoing checks and inspections in order to remain in FMB membership
  • The FMB Code of Conduct which all members must abide by
  • Utilisation of the FMB’s warranties and contracts which help ensure timely, professional service and successful delivery of projects

Thank you for the pride you take in your membership.
