Take back your time. Know your worth. Price for profit.
Great building work is only half the job.
Clients are also buying the process: how clearly you communicate, how professionally you manage the project and how confident you make them feel along the way.
Delivering that experience takes time, structure and profit. Yet in many small building firms, too much still relies on the owner.
The FMB’s Elevate Your Building Business programme is a practical 12-week online coaching programme for owners and directors who want to build a stronger, more organised and more profitable business.
It is not just for struggling businesses. It is for good builders who want to improve the way their business runs, reduce firefighting and prepare for what comes next.
If your business is registered with CITB and your Levy Return is up to date, you may be able to access 50% funding through the CITB Employer Networks, subject to eligibility and approval.
What does the coaching programme cover?
Take back time (weeks 1 to 4)
Every project may be different, but the way you win work, communicate with customers and deliver the experience does not need to be reinvented every time.
You will identify where time, money and customer trust are leaking, then explore what could be simplified, standardised, delegated or supported by AI and technology.
The aim is to create clearer processes, a more consistent customer experience and a business that relies less on you being involved in everything.
The goal: more headspace, better systems and less pressure.
Know your worth (weeks 5 to 8)
Your customers are not only buying the physical build. They are also buying your expertise, your process and the confidence that you will guide them through a major investment.
You will get clear on what your business stands for, who your ideal clients are and the value you offer that cheaper competitors cannot.
You will then learn how to communicate that value so the right clients understand why your business is worth choosing.
The goal: better clients, better conversations and better margins.
Price for profit (weeks 9 to 12)
A busy order book does not automatically create a profitable business.
You will build a structured approach to pricing that reflects your true costs, overheads, risk, management time and the full service you provide.
You will also learn how to protect your margins, manage changes and variations, and present your price with confidence. Specialist pricing and tendering expertise is included.
The goal: know your numbers, protect your margins and make more profit.
How is the programme run?
The programme runs online over 12 weeks, starting on Wednesday 9 September 2026.
This is not another webinar. It is a practical working programme where builders can share ideas, discuss real challenges and take action.
Your place includes:
- A live 60-minute coaching session with Maria every week.
- Practical actions to implement between sessions.
- Guidance on using AI and technology to reduce admin and save time.
- Templates, tools, worksheets and session recordings.
- A private WhatsApp group for support and accountability.
- Specialist pricing input during the Price for Profit stage.
-
You will leave each session with something practical to apply in your business.
